The New Testament makes it very clear that every Christian is called to be an encourager. The Bible does not speak of random acts of kindness. Reaching IN is a different kind of encouragement commanded by Jesus himself during his last meal with the disciples
before his death. His words are recorded in John 13: 34-35 (TLB):
"And so I am giving a new commandment to you now - love each other just as much as I love you. Your strong love for each other will prove to the world that you are my disciples."
According to Jesus, this was a new command requiring a special love to be bestowed on and between those who know him as Savior. By loving our brothers and sisters in Christ, we show the world that we are one in Him and have been set apart by Him. Loving and encouraging other Christians should never be a random, coincidental, or accidental act. Encouraging others is a daily part of God's plan for our lives.
