A guideline for reaching OUt to your community
1. We should be friendly and non-judgemental in all interactions with others. “Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be arrogant, but be friendly to humble people. Don’t think that you are smarter than you really are.” (Romans 12:16, GW)
2. We should live such a life for Christ that others can see the difference He is making in our lives. “And whatever you do or say,
let it be as a representative of the Lord Jesus…” (Colossians 3:17, TLB) “This should be your ambition: to live a quiet life, minding your own business and doing your own work, just as we told you before. As a result, people who are not Christians will trust and respect you..” (1Thessamonians 4: 11-12a, TLB)
3. We should love our Christian brothers and sisters so much that those outside the church can sense the bond we have. “And so I am giving a new commandment to you now - love each other as much as I love you. Your strong love for each other will prove to the world
that you are my disciples.” (John 13:34-35, TLB)
4. We should work together with our brothers and sisters in Christ to reach our neighbors, friends, and relatives for Christ. We should pray together for those who we know are lost and reach out together to those we do not know. “But whatever happens to me, remember always to love as Christians should, so that whether I ever see you again or not, I will keep on hearing good reports that you are standing side by side with one strong purpose - to tell the Good News.” (Philippians 1:27, TLB)
